Background

Founded in 2004 by a small group of concerned individuals in the United States, IFHO aimed to make a difference by increasing food production and self-sufficiency. In collaboration with established charitable organizations in Kenya, IFHO pioneered unique partnerships with farmers to boost local food production and make it available to those in need.

In addition to increasing food production and creating employment, IFHO is committed to ensuring that those suffering from hunger and afflicted by health challenges have access to medical care, sanitary conditions, and opportunities to live productive lives without creating dependence on external aid. The Nyumbani Village in Kitui serves as a model for IFHO’s approach.

IFHO is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation based in Chester County, Pennsylvania.

Our Mission

The International Food and Health Organization’s mission is to enable underprivileged and displaced families to improve their lives by working directly with them to build skills, local capacity, and food security.
